DAVIS DYSLEXIA CORRECTION®

This quote from the book The Gift of Dyslexia, by Ron Davis exemplifies the theories and practice that form the basis for the Davis Dyslexia Correction program. Mr. Davis acknowledges the special talents and gifts of the dyslexic and designed a specialized program that uses the person's visual-spatial strengths to overcome the disabilities associated with dyslexia.

The program was created in 1982 and is being used effectively around the world. The purpose of Davis Dyslexia Correction® is to provide an individualized program for correcting the symptoms of dyslexia to adults and children with learning differences. Ron Davis created the program based on personal breakthroughs he made with his own severe dyslexic condition. Davis Dyslexia Correction® gives the client the ability to correct perception through an orientation process and corrects the dyslexia using symbol mastery.

Dyslexics are picture thinkers. A picture thinker can visualize a concept that might require hundreds or even thousands of words to describe. Therefore, the dyslexic, who characteristically thinks in pictures, develops intuition, multi-dimensional thought and a creative process that is different from a person who has a linguistic/sequential thought process.
